Abstract

This study discusses the gains made by Israel following the alienation of Egypt from the Arab-Israeli conflict. It examines the role of this treaty in establishing a new U.S. strategic order in the region, and its negative implications for the Palestinian cause.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Riad Ashkar a graduate of the American University of Beirut, he was research fellow in Military Affairs at the IPS, and author of several publications on the Israeli military by the Institute. He died in 1982.
