Samirah Alkassim teaches film studies and video production at George Mason University, is coauthor of The Cinema of Muhammad Malas: Visions of a Syrian Auteur (New York: Palgrave Macmillan, 2018), and serves as coeditor of the Palgrave Studies in Arab Cinema.
