C2. ISRAELI PM BENJAMIN NETANYAHU, ADDRESS TO THE SABAN FORUM REGARDING IRAN’S NUCLEAR PROGRAM AND PALESTINIAN NEGOTIATIONS, WASHINGTON, 7 DECEMBER 2014 (EXCERPTS)
Abstract:

On 5–7 December 2014, the Center for Middle East Policy at the Brookings Institution hosted its eleventh annual Saban Forum. The forum—sponsored by Israeli-American billionaire Haim Saban—gathers policymakers, government officials, and business leaders for discussions on U.S.-Israeli relations. This year’s forum was entitled “Stormy Seas: The United States and Israel in a Tumultuous Middle East” and featured remarks by U.S. Secy. of State John Kerry, former secy. of state Hillary Clinton, the head of the Israel’s Labor Party, Isaac Herzog, and Israel’s Economy Minister Naftali Bennett. Discussions centered on the future of the Israel-Palestine conflict, nuclear negotiations with Iran, Syria, and the Islamic State in Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS).

PM Benjamin Netanyahu delivered a speech via webcast on the final day of the forum. His remarks focused on two main issues: Iran’s nuclear program and failed negotiations with the Palestinians. Presented below are excerpts from his speech on both issues. A full transcript is available at www.brookings.edu.
