Jerusalem Quarterly, Autumn 2020 (Special Issue)

This first of two special issues of the Jerusalem Quarterly on the theme of Palestinian homes and houses comes at a time when we are largely confined indoors during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Like everyone else, however, this pandemic-driven isolation – somewhat similar to long-term involuntary confinements familiar to Palestinians through curfews, house arrests, and military invasions – has deepened our appreciation for the centrality of house and home to Palestinian life, as well as for the generative impact of these two concepts on advancing the field of Palestinian studies.
