Highlight | On 1 January 1965, at dawn, al-ʿAsifa (storm), the nascent military wing of Fatah, carried out its first operation, blowing up an Israeli water supply network inside Israel. For the Palestinians, the operation, which claimed the life of Ahmad Muhammad Musa (“Salama”), marks the launch of their contemporary revolution, and is commemorated as such on 1 January every year.
